Loan goalkeeper enjoying life at Elland Road...
Loan goalkeeper Dave Martin is relishing the chance to shine with Leeds United.
The Liverpool youngster made his debut against Accrington Stanley when he caught the eye with a strong all-round effort between the posts.
It was Martin's first senior game since a short loan spell at Tranmere, and the youngster was determined to take his chance.
"It was great to be playing again," he said. "It's been a while since I've played and I was bit rusty, but things went okay.
"At times, I think I had a lucky charm on my goal. I was a bit lucky with one, but that'll come with games.
"For me to keep a clean sheet, even with a bit of luck, was pleasing.
"It was a hard game. I was on loan at Accrington three years ago so I knew they were about hard work.
"We did as well as we can, but we can do better. Now we'll look forward to Saturday.
The goalkeeper joined Leeds last month on a short-term loan deal. His initial stay at Elland Road runs until the end of December and while he has been involved with the first team squad, Tuesday was his first senior appearance.
"When I first came it was open and up to me to impress as much as I can," he explained.
"Casper is a good goalkeeper and there's Shane as well who is nearly fit, and Alan Martin, so there's a few keepers here.
"I don't know what will happen, but when you do get a chance you have to be ready to take it, and that's what I tried to do on Tuesday.
"I'll work has hard as I can. All I can do is get my head down and work hard."
Dave spent time at Leicester City last season, making 25 appearances as the Foxes won promotion from League One, and he believes Leeds will follow in their footsteps this season.
"Last year at Leicester we rode our luck a bit," he said.
"We played a bit more long ball, but they get it down a bit more here because we have the players to do that."
