United boss delighted with FA Cup progress...
United boss Simon Grayson was delighted to see his side secure FA Cup progress at Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
Goals from Jonny Howson and Mike Grella fired Grayson's men to a 2-0 victory at Boundary Park, and the manager was pleased to see his side ease through to the second round.
"We got the result we wanted," said the boss. "We kept a clean sheet and we looked comfortable through the 90 minutes.
"It was a professional performance. We'd changed the system slightly with the personnel we had out there - we went 4-3-3 - and at times it was decent and we moved it well.
"There were times we could do better, but the players haven't played the system a lot. It was all about getting a result and that's what we did.
"You want to get through. We like to entertain and put on a performance, but you can't do that in every game. On Saturday we did what we needed to do."
