United aiming for FA Cup progress at Oldham...
Leeds United will be using September's Carling Cup clash with Liverpool as inspiration when the FA Cup gets underway at Oldham on Saturday.
United head for Boundary Park in the first round for a 5.15pm kick-off, and the immediate aim is to climb the first hurdles of a competition that could bring another big tie to Elland Road early in the New Year.
"Hopefully we can have a good run in the FA Cup," said defender Leigh Bromby.
"I had some good cup runs at Sheffield United when they played some big teams and did quite well.
"You saw the atmosphere here for the Liverpool game in the Carling Cup and that was fantastic for the club.
"If we can get through to the third round and get a team like that, it is a good advert for the club and a good opportunity for the players."
Saturday will be a first for the former Blades defender, who will make his first competitive appearance at Boundary Park.
"I've heard about what it's like and we're looking forward to it," he said.
"We almost sold our allocation again and that gives you a massive lift when you see so many there. We'll be well up for it.
"Every player wants to play on Saturday because you want to keep winning games."
