Josh Falkingham

Leeds United reserves came from behind three times to secure a draw at Bradford City on Tuesday afternoon with young midfielder Josh Falkingham scoring twice.

Sanchez Payne was the first United player to find the mark inside the opening five minutes when he hammered the ball home following a half-cleared corner, but United were already trailing to a Leon Osborne goal by that stage.

Payne and Liam Darville came close to giving United the advantage before Adam Watson had a header cleared off the line.

The home side also tested Alex Cairns in the United goal, but United missed another opportunity to make it 2-1 before the break when, after winning a penalty, Payne saw his spot-kick saved by Jon McLaughlin.

And it was the home side who seized the advantage early in the second period when Rory Boulding capitalised after a Nathan Clarke shot was parried.

That lead lasted barely five minutes before Falkingham delivered a superb curling strike to level matters for a second time.

But Bradford swiftly went in front again, Clarke converting an Osborne cross to make it 3-2.

United came storming back again, though, Falkingham scoring another fizzing equaliser, before Joe McCann came within a whisker of making it four when he sent a free-kick inches wide.

James Booker also went close in the final moments, but he was denied by a good save from McLaughlin.
