Jermaine Beckford celebrates his winner against Norwich

United manager Simon Grayson says his side will go into Saturday's clash with Millwall with an added spring in their step.

The boss says Monday's last-gasp success against Norwich City was a big confidence boost as his troops prepare for back to back away games at Millwall and Bristol Rovers.

"It was a positive way to finish the game on Monday and we were delighted with the outcome," said the manager.

"Reflecting on the game, they had a lot of possession, but we worked hard as a team, we kept going, and had the desire to win the game.

"We finished the game far stronger than Norwich and looked like the only team who were going to win.

"You could see the reaction at the end and every time you beat a team who will be up there at the end of the season it is a big boost.

"We've done it agaionst Colchester, MK Dons, and Norwich already."

The double arrival of loan man Sam Vokes and Max Gradel gave United added impetus on Monday night, and Grayson says the presence of the duo has had a knock-on effect in training this week.

"When they came through the door everyone looked and said 'we have some good players in,'" he said.

"Training's always bright, but there's been more of an edge, and competition for places becomes intense.

"Sam will get better with games and Max is a bubbly little character who can take the impetus away from teams.

"We have a good squad here now, and with players coming back that can only add to the competition."
