Max Gradel in action against Norwich

New loan signing Max Gradel was left speechless after making his Leeds United debut against Norwich City on Monday night.

The winger was introduced for the final 10 minutes of the 2-1 win against Norwich City and walked away from his first Elland Road appearance clutching a bottle of champagne after being awarded the sponsors man of the match.

"It was unbelieveable," a delighted Max told LUTV. "It was great to finally play this season because I haven't really played

"It was a good game and a hard game so I am really happy.

"When you're on the bench you need to give everything you have, and that's what I did.

"I'm not fit yet, but I'll keep working hard and I can do better than I did."

Despite being just days into his fledgling Leeds career, Max is already thinking beyond the initial month loan deal he has joined the club.

"It's a massive club and I love the challenge," he said.

"There is good motivation here because I want to help the club get promoted.

"Hopefully I can stay here because any player just wants to play so I would love that chance.

"The club is fantastic, it has good supporters, and a good manager and staff.

"Everyone is very good and all together and it's the type of team you love to play for."

Monday's debut saw Max link up with his one-time Bournemouth team-mate Sam Vokes, who also joined the club on loan over the weekend and made his debut against Norwich.

"I know Sam and when he's fit he will score goals," added Max. "He is a good striker."
