Tres Kandol scores against Darlington

Striker Tresor Kandol says he feels like he has nothing to lose and is determined to keep making an impression on watching Leeds United manager Simon Grayson.

Tres, who netted his first senior goal for the club since May 2008 against Darlington in the JPT, continued his fine form in the reserves again this week.

The striker took his tally to six from four games after scoring twice against Hartlepool United at Elland Road.

"It was a good game," said the striker. "We should have won and we missed a few chances, but that's how it goes.

"I've nothing to lose. I came back to the club during the summer, everyone knows the situation, and you think 'well, I'm going to enjoy myself and work on my fitness'.

"All you can do is play well and try and adapt. It's not just about goals - it's about helping the team around you.

"As a striker you want to do well and score goals, but the other important thing is helping your team-mates as well.

"If that gets noticed, that's a good thing."

Tres spent last season on loan at Millwall and Charlton, and media speculation linked him strongly with a move to the Valley during the summer.

But he returned to Elland Road and his appearance against Darlington was his first for the club since the final league game of the 2007/08 season when he scored against Gillingham.

"I'm just looking for a balance right now," he explained.

"The only senior game I played was against Darlington and that ended after 45 minutes when I was ill.

"It felt a bit strange stepping on the pitch again and seeing the stadium, and it did remind me of a few games from the past.

"Like I say, I just want to do well and do myself justice. I really feel I have nothing to lose and it was good to see the fans again and play in the first team again."
