Luciano Becchio leaves the field against Charlton

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson says striker Luciano Becchio is continuing to receive treatment on his ankle injury.

The boss dismissed suggestions that the South American had suffered a break in his ankle, when he trod on the ball during the 0-0 draw with Charlton Athletic at Elland Road.

"We've had the x-rays and there's no break in there," said the boss. "I don't know where that suggestion came from.

"Luci is having treatment and we'll see how he goes.

"I'm not one for setting timescales on players nor do I like talking about injured players and setting targets. We'll see how he progresses."

United have almost a week before the next league outing, against Norwich City on Monday October 19.

Shane Higgs, Jason Crowe, Robert Snodgrass, Rui Marques and Ben Parker have all been sidelined with injury in recent weeks while the prolonged break between games has given Leigh Bromby the opportunity to allow a foot infection to clear.
