Lubo Michalik in action against York

Lubo Michalik is set for a return to the international stage on Wednesday.

The central defender, who was named in Slovakia's provisional squad this week, has been drafted into the full squad for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Poland in Chorzow.

Slovakia could have secured qualification for South Africa last weekend, but a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Slovenia leaves the Slovaks needing a victory to guarantee a place in next summer's finals.

Slovakia are two points clear of second placed Slovenia in Group Three, but Slovenia, whose final game is in San Marino, have a superior goal difference.

Lubo's last competitive appearance for Slovakia was back in November 2007.

Paddy Kisnorbo is also on international duty with Australia. He came on as a second half substitute for Saturday's 0-0 draw against Holland, and is in the squad for Wednesday's Asia Cup qualifier against Oman.
