Luciano Becchio leaves the field against Charlton

United manager Simon Grayson is waiting to hear on the extent  of Luciano Becchio's ankle injury.

The South American was carried from the field during the first half of Saturday's 0-0 draw with Charlton Athletic at Elland Road.

"Luciano went over on his ankle and went for x-rays on Saturday," explained the boss.

"He trod on the ball when it stopped. We'll wait for things to settle down before we look at the results and assess things."

The striker joins Robert Snodgrass (knee), Jason Crowe (hamstring), Shane Higgs (thigh), Ben Parker (hamstring), and Rui Marques on a casualty list that seems to be growing by the game.

"You have to run with the injuries," added the manager.

"It doesn't help with continuity, but it's not something I like to comment on. The weekend proves we have players who can do a job."
