Rob Snodgrass gives his verdict on MK victory...
United match-winner Robert Snodgrass admits he was an unusual place at the right time when he headed home Saturday's winner at MK Dons.
The Scot struck in the 92nd minute when instead of supplying the free-kick, he got on the end of a Bradley Johnson delivery to power a header past Willy Gueret to secure United a precious away victory.
"I'm not usually in the area for those situations," conceded the Scot. "I'm usually on free-kicks, but I was lucky to be in there and got the winner.
"It was good to get on the scoresheet, but it was a team performance that got us the points.
"They made it difficult for us, but we hung on and got the winner.
"We didn't play as well as we can do, everyone will say that, but the spirit and determination we showed was magnificent, and to get three points there was a good result.
"We got another three points for the supporters who were magnificent."
MK were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half-time, following a two-footed challenge by Jason Puncheon, but Dons boss Paul Ince suggested post-match that Snoddy should also have seen red for raising a hand to MK skipper Dean Lewington during the first period.
"Their coaching staff were trying to get me sent-off," said Snoddy.
"He (Lewington) was in the referees ear as well, trying to play a part in it.
"There'd been a few elbows at the start of the game, but he was in my face...
"I shouldn't have done it, but these things happen in football."
The celebrations at the final whistle spoke volumes, and the players and fans knew that three points at MK Dons represented an important away win.
"MK will be up there this season," added Snoddy. "
They have some good players, but for me it's the sign of a good team to still be in there after 90-odd minutes.
"We're top which is where we want to be and what we have our sights on. Now we're looking forward to Carlisle on Tuesday now and then Charlton."
