Enoch Showunmi and Tresor Kandol both scored hat-tricks as Leeds United reserves cruised to a 6-1 victory at Scunthorpe United on Wednesday.
Showunmi completed his hat-trick midway through the second half before Kandol got his deserved rewards by bagging a treble in the space of little more than 10 second hald minutes.
The goals were just rewards for the two front-men who spearheaded the routing of Scunthorpe after dominant performances in the United front-line.
Former Bristol City striker Showunmi started the goal-fest when he struck inside the first half, and his second came before half-time when he headed home an Andy Robinson corner.
Scunthorpe did pull a goal back before half-time, former United youngster Ian Morris converting from the penalty spot after Robinson was adjudged to have commited a foul.
But the second half was all Leeds.
Showunmi completed his first hat-trick in a Leeds shirt when he latched on to a pass before flicking the ball past the home goalkeeper.
And, with United 3-1 up, it was the turn of Kandol to hit the goal trail with a quick-fire hat-trick.
The striker made it 4-1 on 71 minutes when he latched on to a Robinson pass before rounding the goalkeeper, and United's fifth goal of the night came after a terrific pass from Showunmi set his strike partner up to convert to put the seal on the win.
There was still time for a second hat-trick of the night, though, and Kandol wrapped up proceedings when, after he was fouled in the box, he stepped up to convert a penalty.
