Attentions quickly turn to Gillingham visit...
United manager Simon Grayson has wasted little time in turning his attentions towards Saturday's Elland Road clash with Gillingham.
The boss was disappointed not to continue the winning start to the season at Southend United on Friday night after a 0-0 draw, but after a weekend which saw Leeds maintain pole position in League One, along with Charlton, the manager and his players are now focusing on Gillingham.
"They've had the weekend to rest their minds and bodies and we've started again for Gillingham now," said the boss.
"Southend is a difficult place to go, teams do find it difficult there and they will get some scalps as the season goes on.
"From our point of view, to go seven games unbeaten is fantastic. We have to go through periods when we stay unbeaten and while I was disappointed not to keep the winning run going, a draw is the next best thing.
"If you don't win, you have to make sure you draw, and we kept a clean sheet and looked solid.
"I thought we were excellent for the first 20 minutes or so, but after that it didn't quite happen for us. We did have some opportunities and I was fairly pleased with some aspects of our performance, but Southend worked hard and are a threat from set-pieces.
"I was disappointed not to win the game, but the main thing is we kept our unbeaten run going."
United goalkeeper Shane Higgs was the hero of the night when his second half penalty save from Lee Barnard maintained parity in an even contest at Roots Hall.
"The penalty decison was harsh," said the boss. "I thought we could have had one at the other end.
"Shane has been excellent since he came here, and that's rounded off a very good start for him this season."
