Rob Snodgrass speaks of his delight...
United midfielder Robert Snodgrass was delighted to get the first goals of the season under his belt as Leeds beat Watford in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.
The Scot capped off his best performance of the campaign to strike twice to secure United a 2-1 victory against the Coca-Cola Championship side, and he says the goals were a confidence boost.
"I have been disappointed with my performances up to Tuesday," Snoddy told LUTV.
"It's not about me, it's about us winning games, but I was going home after games thinking I hadn't contributed to the wins.
"It's good to get on the scoresheet. I've had a few chances to get on the scoresheet and win the game so it was good from that aspect.
"But first and foremost it was good to get through. We were expecting a tough game, but we made it difficult for them at times as they did for us. The main thing is that we're through."
Snoddy is now hoping to use Tuesday as a personal springboard as United's quest continues to maintain what has been a fine start to the season.
"I set myself a target like all players, and I think that's something you need to do," he said.
"You need to keep testing yourself. You can't think back to last season and what you did or didn't do.
"The main aim for us all here is to get promoted. The season isn't settled in August, but we've made a good start. We have to continue that now."
