Enoch Showunmi after scoring his first of pre-season

Bradford Park Avenue denied a Leeds United XI victory at the Horsfall Stadium on Monday night after a storming comeback.

The UniBond League side came from 2-0 down and 3-1 down to ensure honours ended even with a 3-3 draw.

It had looked different early on as United raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening quarter-hour.

Enoch Showunmi scored with a great turn and strike after just four minutes and Tom Elliott doubled the advantage with a shot from the edge of the box.

But the home side had already served a warning when Alan Martin was forced into making two stunning saves to deny Mark Jones and Chris Hall, and the latter pulled a goal back for Avenue moments before half-time when he converted a Steve Downes cross.

United restored the two-goal advantage on the hour when Mark Bett was adjudged to have fouled Liam Darville and Alan Sheehan converted from the penalty spot, but less than five minutes later Bett pulled another goal back with a long range effort.

Showunmi was unfortunate not to bag a fourth for Leeds after some great work by Mike Grella, and it was Bradford who levelled matters with four minutes remaining when Hall converted a Luke Gibson cross.

Hall had an opportunity to win the game in the final minutes, but he couldn't finish and honours ended even.

United: Martin, Darville, Lees, Huntington, Sheehan, Beane (Milne 80), Falkingham, Reilly (Hatfield 80), Grella, Elliott (Somma 46), Showunmi.
