Mathieu Baudry

United manager Simon Grayson is considering his decision on French defender Mathieu Baudry.

The 21-year-old played 80 minutes of the 1-1 draw at Grimsby on Tuesday night, and the manager says he was impressed by his attitude and general play.

The centre-back is currently with Troyes - he won two Player of the Year awards last season - but following the club's relegation to the French third division, he has joined Leeds on a trial basis.

Baudry partnered Lubo Michalik during the first half before teaming up with Rui Marques after the break.

"I thought he did well," said the manager.

"He was unfortunate he was part of a poor team in the first half, but he won his headers, he wanted to get tight and tackle, and he looked a good player.

"He's only young, playing in a strange team and doesn't speak a lot of English, but I was pleased.

"We'll have to make a decision on him."
