United striker enjoys a happy return...
Less than seven days after returning to action, Leeds United striker Enoch Showunmi was delighted to celebrate his return to the football pitch with a goal.
The former Bristol City striker returned from a seven-month lay-off at York City nine days ago, and his first goal of pre-season came in the final moments of last weekend's win against Glentoran.
Enoch, who scored five goals in six starts last season, was unable to play from December onwards following a blood clot on his lung.
But he is now back in the groove and is enjoying life.
"It felt great just to play and get a goal," the striker told LUTV.
"Obviously as a striker it's good to show my attacking ability and hit the back of the net. Every striker has to do that."
Enoch has featured out wide in midfield during the club's games in Ireland, with boss Simon Grayson stressing the importance is more on fitness and minutes on the pitch.
"There's four strikers at the club so there is good competition," said Enoch.
"I have played left midfield a few times in my career and maybe the gaffer is looking at that, but the big thing is playing and building-up fitness.
"I did some running after the game as well and I'm feeling great and good in my body."
With the Ireland training camp now over, the countdown to the new season moves up with a string of friendlies ahead of the opening game of the season against Exeter on Saturday August 8.
"It was a good week in Ireland," said the striker. "It wasn't as long as last year, but it felt right.
"It is about bonding of sorts, but the lads here always get on well and do things together anyway.
"We'll get back to the work at home now. Everyone is just working hard, the ambition is there about getting us to where we need to be as a club.
"Pre-season is about getting fit - the pressure isn't there now - but we're working towards that first game."
