Leeds United can confirm that Jonathan Douglas and Dave Lucas will be parting company with the club.
The two players are out of contract on June 30. Lucas was released to allow him to consider any available options to play regular first team football elsewhere. In respect of Douglas, the club and his representatives felt it was going to be exceptionally difficult to agree terms that would be acceptable to both parties.
Leeds United manager Simon Grayson said: "I've said all along that I would evaluate the squad at the end of the season and this is part of that process.
"I am looking to strengthen what we have here and while players will be coming in, departures are also inevitable as we look to prepare in the best manner possible for next season."
Douglas spent four seasons at Elland Road, making 166 appearances after initially joining on a season-long loan from Blackburn before making the move permanent in August 2006.
Lucas joined in August 2007 as understudy to Casper Ankergren and he has made 24 appearances.
Grayson added: "I've spoken with the players, and I have to say that they have both been excellent professionals since I arrived in December.
"Up until last Thursday we didn't know what our league status would be for next season, and I felt it was important that decisions were made as quickly as possible after that to allow us to move forward as a club and to give the players the best possible opportunity.
"I'd like to thank them for their efforts, and everyone at the club wishes them the best of the luck for the future."
