Ben Parker celebrates his goal against Northampton

Defender Ben Parker is firmly holding the belief that Leeds United can repeat Nottingham Forest's achievement of last season and come from behind to win automatic promotion.

Forest won promotion on the final afternoon last season after clawing back a nine-point deficit from Carlisle United with just six games remaining.

"All we can do is concentrate on our own results," said Ben.

"You never know if we keep winning - anything can happen.

"If it is the Play-Offs we will be on a great run going into them, but while the maths say it is still possible you have to keep going.

"It's disappointing to see the sides around us keeping on winning, but you never know. Forest did it on the last day of season, who knows, we might do that. We have to keep believing.

"Everyone is full of confidence and can't wait to play games. We're unbeaten in nine and we have to keep that going."

Saturday's 1-0 success at Colchester was United's fifth straight victory and it was also the second successive win away from home.

Points have been dropped on the road at Walsall, Hereford, Huddersfield, Oldham, and Bristol Rovers so far this year, but Simon Grayson's side are now being rewarded for the performances away from home.

"We might have been nervous earlier in the season when we were away," said Ben.

"But these last few weeks we've looked solid as a team and we always have goals up front.

"We played some great football under the previous manager, but it wasn't always winning football. Under this manager we have been mixing it up and getting results."

United now head for Leyton Orient on Tuesday, knowing victory would close the gap on second place to seven points with five to play.

Orient have clambered away from the relegation zone since the arrival of Geraint Williams as their new manager and the east Londoners are one of the form teams in the division.

"They are on a decent run and they have a new manager," added Ben.

"All their players will be up for it, and it'll be another full-house.

"We're expecting another tough game, but if we do what we've been doing we can get a result."
