Our newest professional aiming for Academy success...
Teenager Aidan White is hoping to play his part in helping the Leeds United Academy towards even greater recognition this week.
Aidy became the latest prospect to emerge from the Academy to pledge his future to the club when he put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the club on Monday.
"It's fantastic to be offered a contract," said Aidy. "It is special because I'm from Leeds and am a fan of Leeds.
"I've been here since I was eight and developed well. This is the place to keep developing. There's some great coaches and great coaching staff, and with the squad we have we get back in the championship and then the Premiership.
"I just want to improve now and strive to be better. Things have happened so quick this season, it's hard to get your mind around it.
"I'm still young and will get stronger, and hopefully I'll improve a lot more.
"There's some great competition for that first team place with Ben and Sheens, but hopefully I can get back there and keep it."
While re-gaining the left-back spot in the first team is on Aidy's agenda, he is in under-18 action on Tuesday when United's youngsters take on Liverpool in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.
A win against the Reds would further enhance the reputation of the club's Academy, and Aidy and his team-mates are looking forward to the tie.
"It's a great prospect," he said. "Hopefully we'll get a few fans down and it'll be a good game.
"I think they've got a few foreign lads, and they are a good passing team, but we'll give it our best and we're looking forward to it.
"If you at look at the number of players we have produced over the years we must be on a par with them."
