United midfielder relishing a busy period...
Jonathan Douglas has welcomed a run that could see United play six important games in the space of just three weeks.
The hectic November run includes Tuesday's fourth round Carling Cup trip to Derby, a first round FA Cup replay at Northampton, and league games against Huddersfield, Hartlepool, and Northampton.
The aim is to end the run with an FA Cup second round trip to non-league Histon on the weekend of November 29.
"As a footballer that's what you want," said Dougie.
"It's nice to play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday. It keeps you going and it breaks up training. For me personally, I'd rather play a lot of games.
"It's something to look forward to. It's been a good season so far - hopefully it can get a lot better."
United drew 1-1 against Northampton last time out in the FA Cup first round, with the 10-men visitors holding firm to ensure a replay Sixfields.
"It was disappointing on Friday," said Dougie. "They had one chance and scored which is disappointing but we dug deep, we got a penalty and pulled it back.
"Overall it was disappointing we didn't get the win. They got men behind the ball, we created chances, and it wasn't our night.
"You have to give them credit because they defended well. It was disappointing we didn't score another, but we have a big game on Tuesday and we move on to that."
Tuesday sees United make the trip to Derby knowing a place in the last-eight of the Carling Cup is up for grabs. It's the club's first trip to face Championship opposition since our trip to Derby on the final day of the 2006/07 season.
"It's going to be a difficult game," conceded our Irish midfielder. "They're a division higher, but well play our game and we're capable of getting a result.
"We'll go their confident and we're looking forward to it. They have a lot of Premiership players, but we have no fear.
"We'll go there and give it our best."
