Former United defender Ian Harte is undertaking fitness work at the club's Thorp Arch training ground.

Harte, a product of the club's Academy system, made almost 300 appearances for United between 1995 and 2003. Harte also made 45 European appearances for the club and is 10th in the all-time of list of United players in Europe.

The Irish international left United in the summer of 2003, joining Spanish outfit Levante, and has since had a spell with Sunderland.

The 31-year-old was a handed a surprise run-out in a Leeds shirt on Tuesday when he featured in a behind-closed-doors game against Nottingham Forest at Thorp Arch.
