Aidan White in action against Peterborough

Aidan White celebrated his 17th birthday on Friday - but the teenager was more than happy to wait 24 hours for his perfect present.

The young defender has assumed the mantle at left-back in the absence of Alan Sheehan in recent weeks and has no doubts about what birthday present he would like.

"I won't be doing anything Friday, but hopefully I'll get a game on Saturday," he said.

"Just playing on Saturday would be great. Getting a goal would be great as well! But winning the game and getting the three points is all I want.

"We have to get back to winning ways. We haven't played the best in the last two games so hopefully we can make up for it on Saturday."

Aidy has made a rapid rise since leaving school during the summer. He joined the club's Academy as a first-year scholar in July and made his first team debut less than two months later, against Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup.

"It's happened really fast," added Aidy.

"I've played five games now and I wouldn't have thought that four months ago. Its unreal."
