Alan Sheehan is sent-off at Swindon

United defender Alan Sheehan is facing a three-match ban following his sending off at Swindon Town on Saturday.

The club received confirmation on Monday lunchtime that Alan was sent-off for serious foul play and the punishment is an automatic three-game suspension.

The Irishman will now miss the games against Carlisle United, Hartlepool United in the Carling Cup, and Hereford United.

Andrew Hughes turned in a terrific effort when he dropped to left-back after Sheehan's dismissal on Saturday, but the former Norwich man has been starting on the right of midfield, and Gary McAllister could turn to teenager Aidan White.

"I've got a decent little left back who can come in and look after that slot," said Macca.

"Andy can play there and did a great job, but he can play in other positions as well."
