Midfielder comes through reserve game with no problems...
Republic of Ireland international Jonathan Douglas came through Tuesday's reserve game at Sheffield Wednesday with no problems.
Dougie played the full 90 minutes of the 2-2 draw - under the watchful eyes of Gary McAllister and Steve Staunton - and will look to step up his recovery bid over the next week or so.
Saturday's Elland Road meeting with Walsall is likely to come too soon for a senior return for Dougie, but reserve team manager Neil Thompson was pleased with his first outing since December.
"He hasn't played for a long time, but he eased his way back in," said Neil.
"In the second half he dominated the midfield with Peter Sweeney and Seb Carole and he came through with no problems.
"It's just a case of seeing how he is on Wednesday."
The reserve team boss was quick to praise the performance of his side after an entertaining clash against the Owls at the home of Stocksbridge Park Steels.
Anthony Elding scored twice for United, but Owls striker Enoch Showunmi also bagged a brace for the home side and his late equaliser ensured honours ended even.
"It was a great game to watch," said Neil. "We started off a bit shaky, going down the hill, and it took us a while to get used to the pitch and into the game.
"They got a goal out of nothing, but we dominated after that..
"We created a lot of chances, got it wide and got it to the front. It was just the end product at times.
"We got back into it with a penalty and we continued the good work after that. It was a good team performance and there were a lot of good individual performances from the lads which was good to watch.
"They passed it well and played it at a good tempo. Our approach play was terrific, but maybe we should have had more goals."
